COLLAGE COTERIE

Mary Green's newest online class "Collage Coterie" started yesterday.  Her first lesson taught us how to use torn strips of vintage papers and gesso for a background.  The gesso tones the papers down a bit and makes them more cohesive overall.  I made two ATC's:

For the one on the left, I used an image from Lisa's Altered Art, some rubber stamps, punches and a scrap of patterned paper at the bottom.  The strips of paper were glued on vertically.  For the one of the right, I glued the strips horizontally.  A friend gave me the old photo and I used a postage stamp, some German scrap along the bottom, and a butterfly from Mary's Vintage Gluebook class.  Distress the edges of both with the distress tool by Tim Holtz and some distress ink. 

This is an ongoing class - you can sign up anytime if you are interested. Very informative and a fun Flickr group to share your creations. Mary is very generous with collage sheets for her classes, also.

Your Vintage Gluebook ATC swap

LOVE GONE WILD ATC'S - SET TWO

Here is the second group of ATC's for Lenna's Valentine swap.  I had some beautiful hot pink paper with foiled hearts that I have been hoarding for years.  Used one sheet of it to cut into ATC sizes.  Images are from ARTchix Studio, as are the pink German scrap flowers.  Punched gold foil hearts with computer generated words.  Added metallic gold pen around the edges.  Simple, but I like the way they turned out.

Valentine ATC's for Lenna's swap

Lenna Andrews is hosting a Valentine ATC swap - a little on the "wild" side, she said.  I signed up to do two sets of four - here is the first set.  Lenna graciously sent some images to participants to use if they wanted.  These images were fun and I just added some sentiments.  Used patterned paper for the background; some foil sticker borders and hearts, and glittered around the edges. 

Still need to work on the second set! 

PAY IT FORWARD

A few weeks ago, Peggy at PEGGY'S MIXED-UP ART had a Pay It Forward event on her blog.  Three lucky people who responded were sent an adorable tag by Peggy.  I was one of those lucky gals!

In return, I have made the three Christmas ATC's shown above.  The first three readers to make a comment regarding this post will be sent one of the ATC's.  The only requirement is that you, in turn, Pay It Forward when you have the time and desire to do so.  No deadline or anything, just when you are ready!

All done with rubber stamps and a bit of glitter on the moon.  Layered to a black/orange polka dot paper.

ROYAL BIRD ATC'S

Here are my ATC's for the current ARTchix swap which must be mailed by the 15th.  For the background, I used scrapbook paper on which I stamped the flourish and also the small dotted flowers.  Then I added the ARTchix stuff:  birds, border (punched with Martha Stewart punch), crowns and black dot German scrap.  I also applied gold glitter to the crowns and German scrap.
