randon acts of kindness and a GIVEAWAY!
This is something that I found while visiting Jo's blog: JO MURRAY - ART. I would like to offer the same kind of giveaway to five people, too. Here is how it works:
The first five people to comment on this post on my blog that they want to play, will received from me something in this calendar year. A random gift - something artsy or art related; handmade or store bought - but who knows what??
There will be NO warning and it will be sent to you whenever the mood strikes!
SO WHAT'S THE CATCH?
If you decide to participate, you MUST make this same offer on your blog, facebook page or other social media and randomly send a gift to five other people.
If you are one of my first five commenters, I will need to ask for your postal address. I will post the list of my five people as soon as I have them.
If you are on the list you will need to e-mail me your address. Please DO NOT post it here on my blog for the world to see.
If you are not going to follow through and send five gifts of your own, then please don't comment as it's not fair to others.
This is supposed to be fun and give us a treat in the mailbox instead of just bills and junk mail.
No, I am NOT collecting your email and postal address for evil purposes. I will ONLY be using the information to post your surprise. And, this is open to anyone; you do not have to live in the USA.
SURPRISE ME! A comment from someone I haven't heard from for awhile will do so.
Let's have some fun through the mail this year!

two ATC's
that I made recently. This one is for the monthly lottery at Paper Traders:
The background was created with rubber stamps. A clipart image and found phrases were then added. Washi tape and small gems finished it off.
This is one I made and sent as an RAK to an online friend:
The background was made by using distress inks on a craft sheet. More clip art and washi tape. A rubber stamp was used to add the speckles. (Sorry for the poor photo!_
Thanks for visiting.

journal 52 week one
Chelle Stein is giving a free art journal prompt workshop which will run for the entire year. I decided to join this group and hope I can actually do a journal page each week. This week's prompt was Up, Up and Away:
I used monoprints made on my Gelli Plate for a lot of the images on this page. I drew the clouds and flower free hand and cut them from some of the prints. The bird is a Stampers Anonymous stamp, the quote is from Inkadinkadoo and the letters are from DCWV. I used Dylusions spray inks for the background and added some dots through a stencil with transparent modeling paste. A splatter stamp was used to add some interest.
I am not very good at this art journal thing, but it will be fun to see what transpires over the year. Hopefully I can stick to it. :)

january blue swap
This month's theme for A Swap for All Seasons was Thinking of You. We were to make a card and a tag and also send some blue stash to one of the gals who signed up.
My card and tag are similar in nature (pardon the pun). The bird image on the card was taken from the latest issue of Somerset Studio; they usually have some very nice clipart that I love using for cards or collages. I also made an envelope for the card that matches the tag.
Since my favorite color is blue, I had a lot of things to choose from to send to Pam in Arizona!
Looking forward to the February swap now - thanks to Linda Smith for hosting this very enjoyable swap.
